Alison and I will be blogging for the remainder of the international adoption process as we travel to China to meet and bring Bo Cheng to his new home in the upcoming months.

Here is a rundown of the adoption process to this point -

3/31/2007: Attended Great Wall info session in Houma, LA

April - November 2007: Homestudy, document collection, notarizing/
authenticating, CIS fingerprinting and approval

11/20/2007: Dossier log-in-date (LID) for China, the wait begins!

8/21/2008: Find out about boy on Waiting Child (WC) list, contact GW for
more info

8/27/2008: Get Dang Bo Cheng's file from GW

9/1/2008: Hurricane Gustav hits LA while we are contemplating Bo's
placement, detour to TX for a week

9/12/2008: We submit our letter of intent (LOI) to China requesting Bo's
placement with our family

9/23/2008: Pre-Approval (PA) received from China, we are OK to proceed
with Bo's adoption pending our dossier review

12/10/2008: Dossier review complete, we receive the letter seeking
commitment (LSC) from China

12/12/2008: Signed LSC mailed back to China, next step: travel
approval!!!

12/22/2008: Passports mailed to GW for visa submission, anticipated
travel early February 2009

1/8/2009: Received our TA, tentative travel dates 2/12 to 3/4

1/9/2009: Consulate appointment confirmed, international flights arranged
